McDonald's Brings Soccer Clinic to RSLFlorida

On Monday, February 22, 2010 more than 80 RSL Florida players were dressed in McDonalds yellow soccer shorts and McDonald’s Red jerseys for a evening with VPE and US National Soccer Team Player Claudio Reyna and Team USA coaches for a fun filled soccer clinic Hosted by McDonalds.  The players spent time in break out sessions doing soccer drills and were able to ask Claudio Reyna questions about his soccer career.  22 lucky players were selected to escort USA team players to the field for Wednesday night’s US Men’s National Team game against El Salvador at Raymond James Stadium. 

USA was the winner at 2-1 over El Salvador.  

 

RSL Florida advances in Region Cup Play
Congratulations to the following RSL Fl. teams, players and staff for their accomplishments  
U11 Boys, LaPuente, Mo and LaVielle, both U12 Girls teams, Wiltshire, Morse and the U11 Girls, Curry for winning their opening round of Region Cup.  
U14 Boys, Lipovestsky, Blake for winning the USA end of Season Tournament and the U14 Boys for winning their opening round of Region Cup.
U18 Girls, Cote for winning the Stetson 7V7 tournament
U17 Girls Samantha Buterbaugh, U15 Girls Annie Bennett. Audrey Decker & Morgan Orbello and U15 Boys Josepph Metzger, Enrique Barboto  & Wes Gussman.  All made the 1st round of the State ODP trials

RSL Players Names to the Senior Soccer Challenge
RSL FL is proud to announce 13,  U18 Girls were named to the Senior Soccer Challenge Girls team this week.  The game will be played on March 6th at 6pm at Countryside High School. The Boys game will be played at 8pm.  The following RSL FL Players were named to the Hillsborough roster: Jordan Hatton, Jordan Johnson, Amy Werdine, Taylor Batye, Ellen Moore, and Kara Buono.  The following RSL FL Players were named to the Pinellas roster: Niki Carter, Thea Linkfield, Julia Bosacki, Colleen Lynch, Cina Salemi, Stephanie Ferro, and Zoe Lombard. 

RSL Fl. had 2, U17 boys named to the Senior Soccer Challenge Boys team as well.  U17 Derrick Miranda will join the Hillsborough team and U17 player Hamza Elotmani will play with the Pinellas team.

RSL Florida U17 Boys Bring Home The Win
Congratulations to the RSL Fl. U17 Boys, coached by Eddie Oyakhilome, for winning the Red Division of the Score at the Shore Tournament held in Tampa, Feb. 12-15.  RSL Fl coaches and staff are proud of their accomplishment!

Congratulations to Lindey Easton, Katie Norris and Emily Evangelista for being selected to the Girl's '97 Florida ODP Team.  The RSL Board, Staff and Coaches are very proud of you!  

Super Y League Tryouts are announced
Directors of Coaching Steve Henson and Maurice Loregnard of RSL Florida and General Manger Eric Sims of HC United played key leadership roles in developing an agreement with the United Soccer League to recruit, organize and field highly competitive Super Y League Boy’s and Girl’s Teams for the upcoming 2010 Season. Competing in the Super Y League is an opportunity for high-level, competitive players to compete over the summer months with direct benefits: improving their technical level of play and speed of execution along with gaining exposure to intense, higher levels of competition from teams outside of the Tampa Bay area.  Tryouts will be on Feb 27th(Ed Radice) & 28th(Monroe Middle School). read more ...
